The Challenge

Datsme is a social platform which is based on user's psychology, that helps finding compatible friends online. The main challenge was to create a refreshing take on the visual element of this medium, that separate it from the other social media friend finding apps.
The Process

1.0 Research

The premise of the app was simple yet complicated, client wanted a different approach to the whole medium thus, before going down on the whiteboard we started with a primary research of all the current friend finder app and the interaction they provide.

After the first week of research it was settled that datsme will be using a unique visual element to showcase users. So, we started building a new interactive element from scratch and a week into it the design finally started taking shape.

2.0 Wire-framing

As the client already had the user journeys mapped out, the wire-framing part went in smooth. With little iterations we were able to chalk out the whole app in 1 week using high fidelity wireframes.
3.0 Theme

A big part of the project was went into getting the theme and color palette right. With an ongoing re-branding it took a lot of time for the same.

We started with moodboards to present the style and appeal the app might take but as we were experimenting with unique UI we needed a little more than just moodboards. So we started drafting single screens to represent how the app will look like.

After a lot of back and forth we were finally able to create a elegant theme for the application.
4.0 Visual Design

With the wireframes concluded and having a solid theme for our application, We started with full pace on the visual design. Using the power of Sketch and Adobe Illustrator we were able to craft the whole beautiful app in just 2 weeks.

Working on datsme was a really interesting experience. The application is going strong with 10k + downloads and 1000 + users in its closed beta. You can check out the app on google play store
